UNAI SDG Hub 10 Vice-Chair for Teaching and Education: Kristu Jayanti University

Kristu Jayanti University, India is managed by the fathers of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), a catholic religious congregation founded by the 19th century educational visionary and social reformer St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, whose foundational principles are rooted in social justice, equity, and social inclusion. Based on these principles, the University promotes social justice through EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL approach which directly aligns with SDG 10. The university, with its robust academic and research framework and SDG embedded curricula, exhibits a strong commitment for social development by mandatory community outreach programs through active involvement of the faculty and students advocating inclusive education, gender equality, and community empowerment contributing towards the achievement of the SDGs.

UNAI SDG Hub 10 Vice-Chair for Outreach and Partnerships: The State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS)

The State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS) reaffirms its commitment to the SDGs through structured extension initiatives focused on social inclusion and strengthening citizenship. Initiatives such as UEMS in the Community, UEMS on the Bioceanic Route, and UEMS Acolhe promote educational, cultural, scientific, and healthcare activities, especially for socially vulnerable populations, such as Indigenous, Quilombola, and rural communities. These initiatives highlight UEMS's role as an agent of transformation, consolidating university extension as a strategic axis for human, territorial, and sustainable development in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
